How to Make an Autumn Leaf Bowl

autumn leaf bowlTake advantage of fall’s beautiful color by making this autumn leaf bowl from the fallen leaves.

Depending on when you make it, an autumn leaf bowl would work well for holding candy at Halloween, or treats at Thanksgiving. Maple leaves are generally some of the prettiest autumn leaves with their bright oranges and yellows, but don’t overlook the pretty tones and unique shapes of other leaves as well, such as cherry, oak, dogwood and many others.

You could also make this autumn leaf bowl out of artificial leaves, but I like the eco-friendly aspect and more natural look of using real leaves in its production. The more leaves you layer onto the autumn leaf bowl, the stronger it will be, just be sure to coat both sides of each leaf with a good amount of glue, and apply several coats to the outside and inside of the bowl to enhance the stability of the autumn leaf bowl.If you have an unruly leaf or two that just won’t stick to the others, use a little hot glue to hold it in place, and then wash over it with the glue mix to keep it strong.
