With just a little clever painting and a dash of glue, you can turn some tired old Christmas balls into some upcycled nerdy masterpieces. I turned them into into Ninja Turtles, an Iron Man arc reactor, a Star Trek silhouette ball, and a cute little BB8.

All balls I used in this video I found for a few cents apiece at the local second hand shop. Many thrift shops are selling them 10 for $1 this time of year. Since you’ll be painting most of them, the balls don’t have to start out looking perfect.

For the Star Trek silhouette, I just googled “Enterprise silhouette” until I found one I liked. Then I put a piece of paper on the screen and traced the image, cut it out, and taped it to the ball.

Merry Christmas, Live Long and Prosper, and May the Force be with you πŸ˜‰
