Different Designs, But All Tasty

Each of these DIY Halloween cupcakes uses different tips, frosting colors, and common candies to achieve its spooky (but adorable) Halloween look. And with five different types to choose from, you’ll be able to please any ghouls who happen to show up at your table this year. The chocolate ghosts I used on the graveyard cupcakes I found in a local chocolate shop. So check your town and shop local!

I used pastry bags for the cupcakes here, as I’d inherited some from my grandmother that needed to be used up, but I don’t recommend them. Pastry bags are not very ecofriendly since they generally get thrown out after one use. They also tend to be a bit messy as frosting can often ooze out the end between the bag and tip.

A better option is a frosting gun. You can use the same tips you use with a pastry bag, but don’t lose as much frosting out the end. And since the gun is reusable, it’s way better for the planet. (It’s cheaper too, since you don’t have to keep buying new pastry bags all the time)
