Batman Costume Tutorial Part 3: Grapnel Gun and Batarang

A small toy gun and some cardboard will get you a Batman grapnel gun and a batarang with a little tweaking. This is the 3rd part of the Batman costume tutorial.

Batman Costume Tutorial: Grapnel Gun and Batarang

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Small plastic toy gun
1 sheet of cardstock
Piece of cardboard big enough for a batarang
Glossy black paint
Metallic gold paint
Metallic silver paint
White glue (Elmer’s glue)
Paint brush
Hot glue gun
Scissors

The gun I used for the grapnel gun was a little squirt gun I picked up for 75 cents in the Salvation Army. It doesn’t really mimic the shape of any movie grapnel guns, but it seemed to work for the costume. The batarang is based on the Michael Keaton style batarangs.
