Easy Valentine Cards to Make

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make 3 easy Valentine cards, that are fun and unique to give to your Valentines this Valentine’s Day.

Easy Valentine Cards to Make

The materials list below is sorted out by specific cards, so you can easily find what you need for whichever card you prefer (and the actual how-to video, is below that long list). I used recycled paper cards as the base for all of these (because it’s always more fun to give cards that show our love for the Earth as well). If you need blank recycled cards for this project, you can purchase them here.

MATERIALS USED:
CARD #1:
Blank card
Colored cardstock of your choice (I used yellow-orange)
Pencil
Scissors
Decorative shears (I used: Fiskers Victorian)
Scrap of gingham (or other fabric of your choice)
Glue stick
Awl
Red yarn (label is gone, can’t remember brand/color name)
Wide-eyed needle (embroidery or crewel needle)

CARD #2:
Blank card
A heart template small enough to fit on your card size
Spray bottle of distress ink (or food coloring)
Scrap piece of red rose paper (or color/design of your preference)
Scissors
Glue stick
4 plastic heart beads
Hot glue gun

CARD #3:
Blank card
A heart template small enough to fit 3 of them on your card size
Pencil
Awl
Thin red yarn (label is gone, can’t remember brand/color name)
Thin pink yarn (label is gone, can’t remember brand/color name)
Wide-eyed needle (embroidery or crewel needle)

I got a little help from my “furry” Valentine, Bunny, on these cards, but you might want to get a little help from the kids. These are simple enough that they make a great project to do with the little ones for Valentine’s Day (though if they’re very little, you’ll want to do the awl and needle work yourself.)

You can easily find heart templates of every shape and size by simply Googling “Heart template.” That way you’ll be able to fit them to whatever size card you happen to be using. My easy Valentine cards designs here are fairly basic, but if you’re in an especially creative mood, embellish these designs into something more fancy if you prefer.

And be sure to leave me a comment below, and let me know which of these 3 easy Valentine cards you liked the best.
