DIY Glittered Halloween Spider Webs
In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make some easy, glittered spider webs for Halloween.
MATERIALS USED:
Hot glue gun
Metal, glass, or plastic surface that hot glue won’t stick to
Glitter
5 inch piece of Halloween-colored ribbon
Scissors
All these take is a little hot glue and some glitter. I used black glitter, but I’d recommend using a different color, since the black just kind of makes them look dirty. Also white glitter kind of makes them look like snowflakes. So opt for something like eerie green or purple.
Hot glue doesn’t stick to most metal, glass, or hard plastic surfaces, however you may want to test the hot glue on a small corner of your chosen material to be sure it will come off easily and not leave you stuck with it. Something like a smooth old metal cookie sheet is ideal.
And if you end with any of those little glue strings (because of course, with a hot glue gun, we ALWAYS end up with those little glue strings), this is one place where leaving them on looks great. They just enhance the Halloween spider web effect.
* I’m in the midst of using up my standard glitter stash, because as I wrote in Ditch the Glitter, conventional glitter is not very eco-friendly. However, throwing out the glitter I’ve accumulated over the years is also not very eco-friendly. So I’m using it up in projects, and when it’s gone, all my future projects will be make with biodegradable glitter.
