These little silverware holders are a great way to upcycle scrap pieces of fabric and odds and ends of ribbons and other autumn decor.

MATERIALS USED:
Brown scrap fabric – I used an old shirt (yes, I washed it first)
Scissors
Hot glue gun
An autumn leaf
Other autumn decor such as wheat, berries, pumpkins on a stick, etc.
Scrap piece of autumn ribbon

 
I used the shirt sleeves that were left from my brother’s Jack Sparrow vest, since they were thick and durable, but any reasonably thick fabric will do. These silverware holders are good for autumn picnics, Halloween get-togethers, or even Thanksgiving place holders. You can also go a step further, by folding a napkin in behind the silverware.

When you’re decorating these, however, be sure you don’t use bittersweet. As pretty as it is, bittersweet berries are poisonous so you don’t want them close to the food dishes. Save the bittersweet to decorate outdoors instead.
