Easy No-Knit Fingerless Gloves

Looking for something to do with those sweaters leftover from your ugly Christmas sweater party? Trying turning them into some fingerless gloves for the winter.

Easy No-Knit Fingerless Gloves

MATERIALS USED:
An old sweater (the sleeves)
Scissors
Needle and thread
Buttons or jingle bells (optional)

My grandmother, who happens to be a knitting ninja, made me a pair of fingerless gloves a few years ago, and I fell in love with them. They’re perfect for those late fall and early winter farm market days when I want to keep my hands warm, but still need to be able to move my fingers around. I’ve had quite a few people admire them, so thought I’d share an easy way to make them with no knitting needed.

All you need to make these are an old sweater and a few stitches. They’re the perfect way to upcycle those aforementioned ugly Christmas sweaters, or to reuse your favorite old sweaters that might be too holey to wear, but that you’re just not ready to throw out yet.

If you don’t have an old sweater handy, check your local second hand shop. The sweater I’m using here was one I found for a couple bucks in the Salvation Army, and I used it last year to make Christmas Stockings out of it (check out that tutorial here if you missed it). And now the sleeves have become gloves, so I’m getting some pretty mileage out of the sweater.
