Daenerys Part 2 – DIY Daenerys Targaryen Costume

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make the second half of the DIY Daenerys Targaryen costume, the halter top.

DIY Daenerys Targaryen Costume Part 2

MATERIALS USED:
Half a yard of black felt (you may need more or less depending on your size)
Half a yard of brown distressed fabric
Sewing pins
Scissors
Brown ribbon or bias tape
Sewing machine or needle and thread
7 inches of dark brown alova (cut into 3 equal-width strips for braiding)
Small bit of cardboard
White school glue and paint brush
Chrome silver paint

As with the skirt, I couldn’t find material that looked like the woven reeds her top was made out of, so I just used distressed fabric for this DIY Daenerys because it looks like leather. If you’re a busty girl, you’ll need to “scrunch” the center of the halter top down more, so it bunches more allowing for a bigger chest.

For the gloves, I just used what was leftover from the alova braid that goes around the neck of the halter top. If you missed part 1 of the tutorial, the skirt, check it out here.

(And speaking of Dany, was her reaction in the last few minutes of Sunday night’s episode priceless or what?)
