This was originally going to be my Halloween costume this year. I’d grabbed the clothing items at the local second hand shop a few months ago, and had been planning to save them for Halloween. But then the COVID-19 struck, which has made it a bit more difficult to get supplies, since I’m staying home to avoid spreading anything. So since I already had all the the supplies for this one at home, I figured I might as well just do it up now.

It’s pretty easy to put together out of regular clothes, so it’s a breeze to assemble. You can either use clothes you already have, or grab a few items from a local 2nd hand shop (after quarantine is over of course). I was able to make this one for just under $10.

I wore purple leggings under my DIY Professor Trelawney costume because I had them on hand. But I think she actually had “sweatery” leg-warmers. The great thing about this costume is that it lends itself very well to “artistic liberty”. As long as you choose clothing items that look a little wacky, they’ll fit right in. Your DIY Professor Trelawney costume doesn’t have to look exactly like Emma Thompson’s. People will still know who you are.
