Here are a few more DIY Christmas decorations to follow the ones I posted a few weeks ago. They’re all fairly easy to make and can be put together for free or very little money.

MATERIALS USED:

LOLLIPOPS
Wood rounds or cardboard circles
Red and white paint
Paint brushes
Plastic bags
Ribbon
Sticks
Hot glue gun
Pencil

LIGHTBULB SNOWMEN
Expired lightbulbs
Paint brushes in various sizes
Black and orange paint
Black cardstock
Glue
String

2X4 SNOWMAN
Small 2×4
Paint brushes in various sizes
Black, white, orange paints
Scrap piece of red fabric for scarf
Scrap piece of cardboard
Glue or hot glue gun

DIY Christmas decorations are a great way to use up items that might otherwise be thought of as “trash” items. I have a tendency to save everything that might have use in a future project. So when it came time to make my cute little Christmas decorations, I went to my “junk box” to find items to use. The plastic bags I used for the lollipops were some old quilt batting packages. The red fabric for the snowman scarf was leftover from a previous sweater Christmas stocking project. And the lightbulbs of course had been spent.

So start saving items to upcycle later, and use whatever you can find already on hand. It’s a great way to get your crafting materials for free, and it also helps keep them from accumulating in some landfill, and avoids supporting mass-produced items. Win-win!
