Had a request for a DIY Jedi costume tutorial. This the tutorial for the main off-white tunic part of the Jedi costume.

The style of the Jedi tunic basically just a slightly thinner version of a martial arts gi (which I suppose is very fitting given the similarities between Jedi and martial arts philosophy).

I’m doing the Sir Alec Guinness version of the Obi-wan Kenobi tunic from the first movie in this tutorial, so it’s the longer tunic, but if you want to do the Ewan Mcgregor version (or pretty much any of the other Jedi from the Star Wars prequels), it’s made exactly the same way, except that the “skirt” is cut off at mid-thigh instead of floor length.

One note, in the Phantom Menace, Obi-wan’s Jedi tunic is just like everyone else’s. In Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, his Jedi tunic has little tucks in the shoulders (the other Jedi keep their flat shoulders through all 3 prequels).

If you want the Obi-wan tucks from the latter two prequels, just fold the shoulder under itself about an inch, then pin or hot glue it in place to get the tucks.
