Alex Russo’s Wand DIY – Wizards of Waverly Place

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how easy it is to make Alex Russo’s wand from Wizards of Waverly Place.

Alex Russo's Wand DIY

MATERIALS USED:
Stick
Red paint and paintbrush
Gloss Varnish
Strong multi-surface glue (Power-tac)
1 green bead
2 smaller brown beads
Wire

(For the second wand):
Black paint
White paint
Navy blue paint
Navy blue bead
Cream cardstock

I’ve never seen the show Wizards of Waverly place, but I had a few requests for this tutorial. So I searched the internet for a few pictures, and replicated the wand. Since I have a lot of trees around me, I just use a stick from the woods.

It wasn’t as smooth as Alex Russo’s wand in the show, but I actually kind of liked the bumps. However, if you don’t want the bumps on your wand, you can also try a different type of wood or use a dowel. Willow sticks are usually very smooth and would be great for wands.

I also made a second wand in this video. I’m not sure which Wizards of Waverly Place character it belonged to. But since it showed up in several pictures I tried recreating that one as well. It did not turn out as well though, mostly because the stick just wasn’t the right size for it.

A better option might be use a white taper candle as the base for that particular wand, as it would have the appropriate shape for the wand.
