Deanna Troi – Easy No-sew Deanna Troi Costume Star Trek TNG
A few second hand clothes and a little fabric fuse tape will get you a cheap and easy no-sew Deanna Troi costume.
MATERIALS USED:
2nd hand purple shirt
2nd hand purple pants
Purple satin (in a different shade of purple than the top/pants)
Fabric fuse tape
Scissors
Think cardboard
Metallic gold paint
Metallic silver paint
Paint brush
Sticky backed velcro
Dark wig
Rolled up sock
Bobbypins
Iron and scrap paper (optional)
I used a separate top and pants for my Deanna costume, as I dislike jumpsuits. They’re just very inconvenient. So I always split jumpsuit costumes into two pieces.
Splitting them in two also makes it easier to find base materials for costumes. And base materials are required to keep this a no-sew Deanna Troi costume.
The shirt and pants I used were slightly different shades of purple. I was pressed for time when I was making this costume, so I wasn’t able to search very long. However, if you make sure you have a bit more time than I did when you head to the second hand shops, you should be able to find a top and bottom that are a closer shade match. Sometimes you can even find a full matching set.
The combadge on this costume is the same one I use for my Star Trek skant, though I did put the instructions in this Deanna tutorial as well in case you haven’t see the skant tutorial. For the wig, I just reused the one I used for Bellatrix.
The trick to getting the style is to bobbypin a sock to your head. It sounds stupid, but trust me, it works π
