Iron Man Arc Reactor that Really Glows – DIY Cheap and Easy
This Iron Man arc reactor looks amazingly realistic, but is actually very easy to make and can be put together with just a few simple materials for around $5.
The nice thing about this Iron Man arc reactor is that thereโs no metal cutting, soldering, or electrical wiring required. The whole casing is really just cardboard and paper, but when finished, it looks very authentic. You can either draw the pieces freehand or use the free pdf template HERE.
This is for the mark VI Iron Man arc reactor, but it can also be used for an Avengers era costume, as the triangular Iron Man arc reactor did make an appearance in that movie as well.
(*Edit: Walmart has since stopped carrying the lights I used in this project, however, they can still be purchased here from Amazon).

The lights are not available on amazon anymore plz help. thx
Ok, I found them again. Try this link: https://amzn.to/2W6s2ip As an alternative, you can also use a taplight or coil a few blue glow sticks inside of it.
Thanks for answering my questions but still I am left with one thing how do I switch the lights off..what can I do to easily switch it on or off.
The way I do it, is that I just open the back of the arc reactor and click off the lights. If you use a tap light that would be easy to do the same thing. Though if you did something like a glow stick, you’d probably have to actually pull them out to turn it off.
Thnx for answering my questions…
You’re welcome. Good luck ๐
What can I use as an alternative for finger lights. That can be switched on and off and is available in India because finger lights are not available here.
Do you have tap lights available there? You could stick one of those inside. Or else you could also coil a few blue glow sticks inside of it to light it up.
What can I use as an alternative for finger lights as they r not available in India.
How can I put it onto my chest so that it is wearable. What can I attach with it to make this happen?
You can put some sticky back velcro on it to attach it to a shirt, or you can hot glue a safety pin to the back and pin it to your shirt. Or if you’re wearing it under a shirt, tape a string to it and wear it like a necklace. The shirt will hid the string.
Thanks..
Actually the finger lights are actually not available in india so can we use lazer lights or suggest any other.
Hi Adityan, do you have glow sticks available in India? If so, you can coil a few of the flexible ones up inside the of arc reactor and it will give it the same glow as the finger lights.
I’m still learning from you, while I’m trying to achieve my goals. I definitely enjoy reading all that is posted on your blog.Keep the posts coming. I enjoyed it!
