Skant – DIY Cheap and Easy Star Trek Skant
This is a tutorial for a cheap and easy Star Trek Skant.
This one was actually suggested to me last summer, but somewhere between breaking my face and almost dying, it kinda slipped my mind. But I recently got another request for a Star Trek skant tutorial so thought it was about time to get back to it.
The Star Trek skant is a pretty simple make, not a lot of sewing, and very inexpensive if you get the shirts for your skant at a 2nd hand shop. I recommend checking in the guy’s section, as the t-shirts in the female section usually aren’t big enough to turn into a Star Trek skant dress. Because T-shirts are stretchy, it’s made exactly the same way whether you’re doing it for a male or female, no chest darts needed.
The fabric fuse tape I used I found at JoAnn’s, but if you don’t have a JoAnn’s near you, you can also get it on Amazon here. It’s totally washable, just don’t throw it in the dryer, or it may melt the tape. Line dry it instead.
