DIY Paper Mache Easter Eggs Inspired By Panoramic Sugar Eggs - Easter Crafts

Try these DIY paper mache Easter eggs if you love the look of panoramic sugar eggs, but don’t love the mess that comes with them.

MATERIALS USED:
Plastic Easter egg or large egg mold
Tissue paper
Glue
Paintbrush
Plastic flower gems
Scrap piece of craft foam (cut in the shape of a bunny head)
2 white oval beads
Multi surface glue
Piece of ribbon big enough to go lengthwise around the egg
Pink, blue, green, purple, red, yellow paint
Pink, yellow, green, orange puffy paint
Scissors
Pencil
Xacto knife
Scrap piece of plastic
Tape
Cardboard tube (optional, for holding eggs)

These paper mache eggs are a cheap and easy alternative to traditional Easter sugar eggs. You can make the designs with puffy paint instead of frosting, and use paper mache instead of sugar to make the actual eggs.

Traditional panoramic sugar eggs are generally made in large egg molds, but I just used a plain plastic Easter egg, since that’s what I had on hand. You can use whichever you prefer. You could even go a bit smaller with your DIY eggs and make mini panoramic eggs from the smaller plastic Easter eggs.

I painted the outside of my eggs white, but you can use any color you want. I used the glue method of paper mache because it’s faster, but if you want a non-toxic version, you can use the flour and water method. Just be careful to store the finished creations in a dry area as moisture can cause flour paper mache to mold. If you need a recipe, I have one here.
