Trinity Costume DIY Cheap and Easy – The Matrix (long coat)
You can make a DIY Trinity costume cheap and easy by doing a few alterations on an old raincoat. This is for the long coat Trinity wears in the Matrix movies.
MATERIALS USED:
Black raincoat
Scissors
Short zipper
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Sewing pins
This coat is based on the one Trinity wears in the later Matrix movies, as opposed to the one she wore in the original Matrix. That one was similar, but I don’t think it was quite the same.
Black raincoats can double fairly well as leather. The plastic material they make rain coats out of catches the light in a similar fashion. The coat I’m altering in this video is one I picked up for $4 in the local second hand shop.
I was a bit disappointed with the most recent Matrix movie honestly; it just felt a little bit pointless. (Though I have to say the Jefferson Airplane overlay gave it one of the best trailers of all the Matrix movies). It had good action, was enjoyable to watch, and the cameos of past familiar characters was fun, especially the cat.
π But essentially it felt like a movie that didn’t really need to be made.
It didn’t add anything to the storyline. It just negated the ending of the third movie for no real reason, so I think I could have done without it. Still had a great time making this costume though.
What did you all think of Matrix Resurrections? Leave me a comment below and let me know. And be sure to stick around for the end of the video, because I’ve got a really fun ending on this one. π
