DIY Upcycled Storage Jars
In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make some cute little storage containers to hold all those little beads, sequins, and other small crafting items that can sometimes run amok in your drawers.
MATERIALS USED:
Old lotion, makeup, food, etc. containers
Scrap bits of ribbon, rick-rack, and other trims
Stray beads / sequins
Hot glue gun or tacky glue
Those old food, lotion, or makeup jars are just the perfect size for making these spiffy little containers. Decorate them up with some colorful trims to make them look as cute as their contents. It’s a great way to upcycle the jars and use up old scrap bits of ribbon, rick-rack and other trim that would be too small to use in other projects.
A fellow crafter in a Canada sent me a couple of these she had made, and I thought they were so cute, I made a few extras to go with them. I use them to store all my eyelets, sequins, snaps, and other such small items. Keeps my craft supply drawers clean and neat and cute as a button (speaking of which, stray buttons also look great on these).
To really enhance the organization factor, write out or glue a sample of the contents on top of the cover, so you’ll always know exactly what’s in each jar.
