Easy DIY Mason Jar Christmas Silhouette Lanterns

If you have some dusty old canning jars that might be a little chipped or unusable for canning, turn them into some festive holiday luminaries.

Easy DIY Mason Jar Christmas Silhouette LanternsMATERIALS USED:
1 canning jar (the old bail-wire ones look really good for these)
1 sheet of white tissue paper
Black paper or cardstock
Scissors
Glue stick
2 red or green finger lights
A festive embellishment (such as holly, a pine branch, etc)
Small piece of 1/4 inch thick ribbon

I have a lot of canning jars, they’ve just sort of collected at my house over the years. I use them for food storage of course, but I also put them to use as flower vases, decor, and craft projects. So I decided to use a couple for some silhouette luminaries this year.

These are super easy to make, so they’re a great project to do with kids during the holiday season. It’s also a good way to recycle any old, crumpled tissue paper that might be left over from previous Christmas gifts.
