Fallout Alien Blaster – Cheap and Easy DIY

Cheap and Easy DIY Fallout Alien Blaster

A few old bottles and some cardboard and craft foam will get you a cheap and easy DIY Fallout alien blaster ready for the wastelands.

MATERIALS USED:
Fallout Alien Blaster Template (available free in my patterns vault)
Round edged bottle
Smaller round edged bottle
2mm craft foam
Scrap of 5mm craft foam
Blue plastic gems
Blue puffy paint
White school glue
Metallic silver paint (Silver Anniversary)
Metallic copper paint
Cardboard scraps
Cardstock
Marker
Utility knife
Scissors
Multi surface glue – (Power-tac)
Paint brush

I’m betting that the companies who made these bottles never had Fallout blasters in mind when they made their containers πŸ˜‰ But they work great!

The larger bottle is an old deodorant bottle that a family member saved for me because they knew I like oddly shaped bottles. I actually don’t think that type of deodorant is made anymore due to health issues, but you can often find shampoo and similar things in bottles shaped like that as well.

The smaller bottle was a Mio bottle that another family member saved for me because again, they knew I liked weird containers. (It pays to enlist the help of family and friends in saving useful future items). And together the containers fit perfectly.

If you’re not a fan of the Fallout video game, this blaster could also double as an alien ray gun, because it looks just like a classic blaster from a 1950’s sci-fi movie. (Any fellow corny sci-fi fans out there?)
