Flash – DIY Flash Ring Cheap & Easy (openable)

Flash - DIY Flash Ring Cheap & Easy (openable)

In this tutorial I’ll show you a cheap, quick and easy way to make a DIY Flash ring. The ring that was used to hold the Flash’s suit.

MATERIALS USED:
Scraps of 2mm craft foam
Cardstock
Silver foil scraps
Gold foil scraps
Thin magnet (old biz cards work great)
Multi surface glue
Scissors
Red, white, and blue paint
Xacto knife

Don’t throw out those old magnetic business cards just yet. Save them to cut up for this Flash’s ring! Those old business card will allow you create a DIY Flash ring that can sit in both the open and closed positions.

Why magnetic business cards you might ask? Because the magic of magnets is what allows this ring to sit in both the opened and closed position. (This is where saving all your junk comes in handy πŸ˜‰) Just be sure to test your magnets to make sure they’ll be strong enough to hold, as not all magnetic business cards are created equal.

While the ring doesn’t actually move on its own, the magnets allow it to be positioned in both the open and closed position as you please. It’s quick and easy to make.

I used silver and gold adhesive foil for the details for convenience, but you can also just glue on tinfoil for a cheaper option.

Give it a try!
