Frodo’s DIY One Ring
This is a tutorial for how to make a simple DIY version of the One Ring from Lord of the Rings.
MATERIALS USED:
Oven bake clay
Toothpick
Metallic gold paint
Very thin tipped paint brush
Bright yellow paint (I used Cadmium yellow)
This One Ring is basically made from clay and a little paint. It is difficult to get a perfect shaped ring when you’re working with clay, however, so if you want something perfect, you might be better off just purchasing a pre-made ring. But if you’re someone who likes to make every part of your costume, then here’s an easy way to make a One Ring. I went ahead and made this one because I had a request for it.
The lines of Mordor script on the ring the movies weren’t quite the color I used here, but I needed something that would be stark enough against the shiny metallic gold. If you want something a little closer, try experimenting with different mixes of oranges and yellows until you find the one that you like the best.
