How to Make a Christmas Stocking From an Old Shirt

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make a Christmas stocking from an old shirt. If you’ve got an old shirt or two, it’s easy to do. I’m calling mine the Jimmy Buffet Christmas stocking because of the tropical pattern I used.
MATERIALS USED:
An old shirt
Scissors
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Stocking Template
My dad is a big Jimmy Buffet fan. My dad also has a collection of Jimmy Buffet style shirts. Occasionally, one of those shirts get damaged beyond repair. So I decided to turn one of those damaged shirts into a fun Jimmy Buffet-esque Christmas stocking for my dad.
The fun part about this Christmas stocking is that the shirt itself provides the details. So the little ties I cut from excess shirt material, and the buttons came off the shirt itself.
If your shirt has pockets, you could cut your stocking so the pocket is placed in a prominent place on the front of the stocking. Use it to its fullest!
Then hang up your stocking. But be careful, because before you know it, you could find yourself wasting away again in Margaritaville ?
I also did a similar stocking out of an old sweater a few years ago. You can check out that tutorial here.
