How To Make A Fairy House From a Gourd

How To Make A Fairy House From a Gourd

In this week’s tutorial I’ll show you an easy technique for how to make a fairy house. It involves decorating a base gourd.

MATERIALS USED:
Gourd
Broken gourd pieces
Tree bark pieces
Dried flowers
Shelf fungi
Pumpkin seeds
Twigs
Pencil
Glue or Hot Glue Gun
Hand Pruners
Green and yellow paint
Paintbrush

I used a goose neck gourd for my fairy house, which gave me a second story, but you don’t have to limit yourself to this type of gourd. You could use bigger or smaller gourds. Use apple gourds or crown of thorns gourds for different shapes.

You can even turn your gourd on its side or glue several gourds together to make a fairy house with multiple rooms. No matter how you create it, your local fairies will love it πŸ˜‰

I used fungi, dried flowers, bark pieces, pumpkin seeds and twigs to decorate my fairy house, but you can use anything you might find in your area. Pine cone scales work as well as pumpkin seeds for roof tiles. Pine needles make great “thatching.” Moss and grapevine tendrils can help add texture.
