Captain Kirk – How to Make Captain Kirk’s Formal Tunic from Star Trek TOS

Had a how-to request for the formal green tunic that Captain Kirk wears in Star Trek TOS when guests are invited to the Enterprise, or when court is in session.

The material of the formal tunics is a bit more shiny than the standard tunics, so I used a satin shirt as the base. This can be made very inexpensively with no sewing.

You can also change the colors if you want to do a different formal tunic from Star Trek TOS. They’re all very similar in initial shape, but the number and color of the awards changes. Also the braiding is a bit different at the neck depending on which character you do, so Google a couple reference shots before you commence.
