How To Make Gloves - Sew Your Own Gloves For Cosplay

In this week’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to make gloves to match any costume you need.

MATERIALS USED:
Glove Guide Template (Available here in my patterns vault)
Fabric big enough to cover your hands
Scissors
Needle and thread or sewing machine

Many costumes require gloves, but premade gloves aren’t always available in the right colors or patterns. And some fabrics they just don’t make gloves out of very often (crushed velvet anyone?)

So knowing how to make glove not only allows you unlimited freedom in the style of the gloves; it’s also a great way to ensure that you get a perfect every time. Making your own gloves allows them to literally fit you “like a glove.” πŸ˜‰

I have provided a free glove guide template (above), but it’s just meant to be a basic guide, as it’s sized to fit my hands. You’ll want make a template in the same style as my guide based on your own hand measurement.

By using your own hands for the measurements, you can draft a perfect template that you’ll be able to use over and over again for many costumes. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to trace your hands to get those measurements for your template. And then you can cut them out and start assembling for your next cosplay!
