How to Wear Earrings Without Piercing Your Ears
Here’s a short little tutorial showing you how to wear earrings without piercing your ears.
MATERIALS USED:
Earrings
Pliers
Clip on earring converters
I remember being kind of fascinated by a couple pairs of clip-on earrings in my grandmother’s play jewelry box when I was little. I never had an interest in piercing my ears (benefits of homeschooling, no peer pressure to conform, haha). So the clip-ons were just a really cool invention to my 7-year-old mind.
Having still never pierced my ears, any time I’ve needed earrings for a cosplay, I’ve just always made clip-ons. So I never thought about people not knowing about clip-on’s until someone recently asked me how they could wear earrings without piercing their ears. So for those who aren’t familiar with the amazing little clip-on converters, I did a quick tutorial showing how to turn any pair of earrings into clip-ons.
The clip parts can be picked up in pretty much any craft store that sells jewelry making supplies. No poking holes in ears required π
Second Hand Shop Finds
These pretty little butterfly wings that I made my earrings out of came from a second hand shop. While I’ve never really been one for a lot of jewelry, particularly earrings, when I saw these pretty little things I decided to grab them. Being in a second hand shop, they were being sold for under a dollar.
I knew they’d be just perfect for this clip-on earrings tutorial. And they’re pretty enough that I might even actually wear them in real life. I guess I just needed to find something brightly colorful enough to fit my “tie-dye” lifestyle. π
