Mandalorian Blaster Pistol DIY (cardboard) Cheap Build

This week’s tutorial is a Mandalorian blaster pistol DIY, made from nice cheap cardboard!

Mandalorian Blaster Pistol

MATERIALS USED:
Blaster template (available free in my patterns vault here)
Scissors
Utility knife
Cardboard
Hot glue
Paper
Cardstock
Dowel (or rolled up cardstock)
Scrap pieces of craft foam
Various beads and snaps
2 twisties
White school glue and Foam brush
Black Metallic paint
Metallic silver paint
Brown paint or wood-grain duct tape
Paint brush

There are a lot of 3D printed Mandalorian blaster tutorials out there, but for those of us who can’t afford a 3D printer, cardboard is the next best thing. (I mean, it’s free, how could it not be the next best thing πŸ˜‰ )

This is definitely not an exact replica (because, ya know, it’s cardboard and I needed to simplify it). But it is a nice, cheap way to make a DIY Mandalorian blaster pistol. I took out a few of the details, but you can always to add them to your build if you want them, with more cardboard, or maybe a little puffy paint.

Also the grips weren’t quite so “wood-grain,” but I had some of that duct tape left over from another project, and I thought it’d be more fun than just painting the grips plain brown. I used a lot of hot glue, because it dries super fast, but you can use any strong glue that you like. And if you don’t have craft foam, you can just use some flexible cardboard to make the detail parts.

May the force be with you…
