Kahlan Amnell or How to Make a Medieval Sorceress Costume (Confessor Dress)

This dress works great as a sorceress costume, but is actually based on the mother confessor dress from the Legend of the Seeker show.

Medieval Sorceress Costume (Confessor Dress)

I fell in love with the dress Bridget Reagan wore in Legend of the Seeker the first time I saw it. I’m a sucker for Medieval gowns and the long, “flowy” sleeves caught my attention immediately, so I set about making an inexpensive copy.

The nice thing about this dress is that you don’t need a pattern to make it. You can use a turtleneck and a white table cloth for the overdress, and then a plain a black tank-top dress for the underdress, all of which can be picked up for a few bucks at your local 2nd hand shop.

If it’s going to be cold out when you wear it, you can also substitute a long-sleeved black underdress instead for added warmth.
