Moira Eyepatch DIY from Overwatch Cheap & Easy
Here’s a quick and easy way to make a DIY Moira eyepatch from overwatch.
MATERIALS USED:
Moira Eyepatch Template (available free in my patterns vault)
Scraps of white and black 2mm craft foam
3 black scrapbooking brads
Scissors
Spirit gum and spirit gum remover
Candle, heat gun, or other heat source
Mannequin head
Hot glue gun or other type of glue that will stick to foam
I’ve never played Overwatch, but I recently had a request to make a DIY Moira eyepatch tutorial. The requester said they were unable to find one anywhere on the internet.
So I set about googling pictures to see what I could come up with. It seemed like an easy one to jump back into tutorial requests with.
I used craft foam for this, because it can be heated up and shaped. And since it comes in both black and white, I didn’t even need to paint anything for it.
I used mini scrapbooking brads for the rivets, but if you want them bigger, you could also just cut circles out of foam.
I used a candle to heat my foam, but you can also use a heat gun for more convenience. If you use a candle, make sure the foam isn’t actually in the flame. Just close enough to become pliable. And whatever heat source you use, just be sure you’re heating in a well ventilated area and wear a mask to avoid breathing the fumes.
Always shape it on a mannequin head, not your face, because the foam will be hot, and you don’t want to burn yourself. Foam mannequin heads can be picked up very cheaply in most craft stores.
