This Phoebe Buffay costume DIY can easily be recreated with items from your own closet or a quick trip to your local second hand shop. It makes a great last minute costume.

MATERIALS USED:
2nd hand skirt
2nd hand shirt
Peace sign necklace
Hair clips
Blonde wig
Guitar

The idea with this Phoebe Buffay costume is not to recreate a specific outfit from FRIENDS, but rather to capture Phoebe’s general feel. In particular Phoebe tended to wear a lot of bohemian hippie-style clothes.

I was able to create this costume with items from my own closet. Being something of a boho-hippie girl myself, I have a lot of eclectic clothes in my closet that were perfect for a hippie costume. If your wardrobe is a bit more reserved, however, you can easily pick some up for a few bucks in a second hand shop.

Be sure to finish off your costume with a guitar. Even if you don’t actually know how to play, it gives it that final Phoebe Buffay effect. And you can always just sing the words to Smelly Cat 😊
