An old knitted blanket, some craft foam, and duct tape will get you chain mail, armor, and movable gloves to finish your Sauron costume.

The chain mail in this costume didn’t work out quite as well as I’d hoped. The fabric sucked up the spray paint making it appear grey instead of silver, but since it’s mostly covered by foam armor, it doesn’t show that much. If you wanted the chain mail to look more metallic, try spraying the knitted blanket with some spray enamel before painting it silver.
