Ahsoka Tano Costume DIY (dress, overskirt, and bracers)

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make the final part of the Ahsoka Tano costume, the costume itself.

Ahsoka Tano Costume DIY (dress, overskirt, and bracers)

MATERIALS USED:
Skirt and bracers template (available free in my patterns vault)
Black or navy blue dress (stretchy material if possible) – Check your local second hand shops.
Scissors
Sewing pins
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Silver puffy paint
1 yd. pellon
Scraps of black distressed fabric
Scrap of silver fabric
Hot glue gun
1 snap
Black leggings
Boots

I did the season 7 Clone Wars version of the Ahsoka Tano costume, since it got the most when I put it up for a vote. And it’s also my favorite version of her outfit. This is a very easy costume to make. The base dress cost me $2.50 in the local second hand shop, and pellon is fairly inexpensive, so it’s a good budget-friendly costume. As the silver fabric and black distressed fabric I used were scraps leftover from previous costumes, I was able to put this together for under $20.

For the shinguards, I accidentally forgot to film more than the initial cutting of the pellon (it was 2AM so I was bound to forget something πŸ˜‰ ). But those were made the same way as the bracers. Just pellon with silver fabric sewn to it. And then I sewed on a few strips of the leftover dress fabric to act as elastic ties to fasten them around my boots.

I ended up just photoshopping the Ahsoka makeup. I had initially planned to at least paint on the white marks, but when I opened up the box, I realized I’d used up all the white makeup at the last comic con I went to (way back before covid, when we could still go to cons…). So I ended up just photoshopping all the makeup on here.

May the force be with you.
