Black Panther Part 1: DIY Black Panther Claw Necklace and Gloves

A little cardstock and some silver foil will get you a cheap and easy DIY Black Panther claw necklace and set of clawed gloves.

DIY Black Panther Claw Necklace and Gloves

MATERIALS USED:
1 sheep of heavy cardstock or posterboard
Scissors
Awl
Silver adhesive foil
3 black pipe cleaners
1 pair of black gloves
Black duct tape
Black puffy paint
Metallic silver puffy paint

I had several requests for a DIY Black Panther costume, so in this tutorial I’ll show you how to make the claw necklace and the gloves, and then the rest of the costume will be coming in the next couple weeks. (That will include an upgrade of the mask, since the first DIY Black Panther mask I did really wasn’t very good…)

The gloves I used for this costume came from the Salvation Army (so check your local 2nd hand shops for a cheaper and more eco-friendly option). Mine are a little different than what T’challa wore in the movie, as I took a little artistic liberty with them. The plain black just didn’t show the alternating textures very well on my gloves, so I added some silver stripes, and altered them a bit just to make them show up a little bit better. But you can always choose to be a bit more true to film with your puffy paint if you wish.

Check back next week for part 2, the DIY Black Panther bodysuit tutorial. Wakanda Forever!
