Cheap and Easy Button Valentine Heart Wreath

In this video tutorial I’ll be making a super easy Valentine heart from stray buttons.

Cheap and Easy Button Valentine Heart Wreath

MATERIALS USED:
A bunch of random buttons of different colors, shapes, and sizes (I used 26 of them on my Valentine heart)
22 gauge wire
Scissors or wire cutters
2 feet of 1/8 inch thick ribbon

If you’re anything like me, and save all those extra buttons from old clothes, then you probably have quite a collection of mismatched fasteners in need of a home. In my case, my grandmother also gave me several tins full of buttons she’d saved over the years. So needless to say, I have a HUGE collection of homeless buttons.

So this little Valentine heart seemed like a good way to put some of them to use. I also used my old guitar strings (high E) for the wire to make the heart. However, if you use common wreath wire, it’ll be a bit easier to bend it into shape, since guitar strings don’t always like to stay in the direction you bend them (good for music, not so much for crafts, but I had old ones to recycle, so I used ’em anyway).
