Cheap and Easy DIY Pinecone Spiders

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make some cheap and easy Halloween spiders from pinecones and ping pong balls.

Cheap and Easy DIY Pinecone Spiders

MATERIALS USED:
1 pine cone
1 ping pong ball
Hot glue gun
Scissors
22 gauge wire (in my case, I used old guitar strings)
Black paint (I used lacquer)
Red and white acrylic paint (I used Country Red and Ceramcoat white)
Thin tipped paint brush
Pliers

The finished spiders have that slightly “corny” look, like the spiders from the old 50’s and 60’s cartoons, so they’re kinda fun to have around the house…unless of course you don’t like spiders.

I recycled a few of my old guitars strings for the spider legs (I don’t recommend it because they’re very difficult to work with as crafting wire), but 22 gauge wreath wire should be comparable. Whatever black paint you choose to use, try to do something with a little gloss in in, as it makes the spiders look a little better.

Happy Halloween everyone!
