Cheap and Easy Halloween Decor Ideas

In this tutorial I’ll show you a few cheap and easy Halloween decor ideas that you probably already have most of the materials on hand for. Anything you might need to pick up (like plastic spiders), can usually be acquired very inexpensively.

Cheap and Easy Halloween Decor Ideas

MATERIALS USED:

SPIDER EGG SACK:
A long gourd or ball
White fabric (I used some shirt sleeves leftover from Leeloo)
Fake spider web or cheese cloth
Plastic spiders
Hot glue gun
Scissors
White thread and needle

SPIDER CUPS:
Plastic spiders
Twisties
Hot glue gun
Mugs with handles

PEEKING SHADOW GUY:
Halloween Decor Templates (available free in my patterns vault)
Black cardstock
Pencil
Scissors
Masking tape (to attach it to your cupboard or toilet, etc).

Halloween is my favorite holiday, so it stands to reason that Halloween decorations are some of my favorite to make. In this video I’ll show you how to make a creepy shadow staring out at you, some most unpleasant spider topped cups, and a spooky spider egg sack that would give Ron Weasley nightmares. All of these are very cheap and easy Halloween decor ideas, and they’re super fun to make.

For the spider sack, I used a dried gourd, but you can also use an old football or something similar. For the cups, if you don’t want to ruin anything you already own, pick up a few from a second hand shop. The shadow eyes are fairly easy to draw freehand, but if you don’t want to try drawing it, I also made a free template you can use (link above). The template also includes batwings that I’ll be using for a future Halloween tutorial in a couple weeks.

And remember, when it comes to Halloween decor ideas, the more the scarier 😉 so doing them en masse, like multiple egg sacks is a great way to spook any visitors. And if these aren’t enough, in two weeks I’ll have another tutorial with even more cheap and easy Halloween decor ideas for you try! Give these a go, and check back for more in two weeks!
