Coronavirus Halloween Costumes
Halloween will probably look a bit different for most of us this year. Some places aren’t allowing trick or treating, many Halloween gatherings aren’t taking place, and those that are will be much smaller than usual. But there’s nothing saying that we can’t still have fun dressing up at home! And if you are going to be with a few people on the holiday, why not use “coronavirus Halloween costumes.”
Instead of trying to figure out a way to incorporate your mask into your costume, choose a costume that already has a mask. That way you’ll have a complete look, as well as protecting your friends from any germs you might be carrying unbeknownst.
Mortal Kombat
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think masked costumes, is Mortal Kombat. Half the Mortal Kombat characters already have masks. Many of their masks look shockingly similar to the coronavirus masks we’ve all been wearing these last several months. As such, they make perfect coronavirus Halloween costumes!
For guys you’ve got your Subzero, Scorpion, Erron Black, Smoke, etc. For the ladies there’s Kitnana, Mileena, Jade, Skarlet, etc. And many more of each gender.
Comic Books
If video games aren’t your thing, comic books offer a variety of masked characters. In the superhero department, you’ve got your Spiderman, Iron Man, Starlord, etc. If you prefer villains, try the Winter Soldier (ok, so he’s only kind of a villain π ) or Loki after he’s been caught by the Avengers.
Star Wars
Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Lando Calrissian, Stormtroopers, Boba Fett. All these characters wear masks at one point or another during the Star Wars movies. So they’re a great way to stay safe while showing off your love of the fandom during Halloween.
Traditional Costumes
If you want something a little more traditional, a cowboy with a bandana or a doctor or nurse with a surgical mask works perfectly!
Safe Trick or Treating
If you are in an area where people will still be trick or treating, be sure to observe a few safety measures. Make sure to wash your hands well, or put on gloves before handing out candy. Don’t let the kids reach into the bowl. Instead use your clean hands to drop candy in the trick-or-treater’s bags, giving them a contact-less way to collect candy.
Be safe, and Happy Halloween!
