Captain America – DIY Captain America Arm Shield Infinity War Version

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make the new Wakandan Captain America arm shield from Infinity War.

DIY Captain America Shield Infinity War Version

MATERIALS USED:
Captain America Shield Template
2 sheets of 3mm craft foam
Scisscors
Pencil
1 foot of Wonderflex (You can get it by the yard at Wonderflexworld.com – This is optional)
Heat gun if you’re using the wonderflex
Glue gun if you’re just using foam or cardboard
Black 8th inch ribbon
Bias tape or some type of cording
Awl
White school glue and foam brush
Black paint or spray paint (I used lacquer)
Metallic silver paint (I used Silver Anniversary) and paint brush

I made this shield out of Wonderflex because I wanted it to be extra strong. But if you don’t want to spend the money on Wonderflex, you can make it out of just craft foam or cardboard the exact same way; it just won’t be as strong.

I do have a pattern you can use to make this (see above in the material list), but mine is not an exact replica of the Captain America arm shield in the movie. I had to change the pieces around a bit and take a few out just to simplify its construction. But you can always edit it if you want to be even more authentic. Also in the movie the shield was more of a gunmetal gray, but I painted mine black because I couldn’t find a gray dark enough to match what was in the movie.
