DIY Christmas Gnomes – Cheap and Easy – Greenery Gnomes – Christmas Crafts – Christmas Craft Ideas

You could use your greens for an ordinary holiday wreath, or you could be adventurous and turn them into some adorable little DIY Christmas gnomes instead.

MATERIALS USED:
Gnome Hat Template (available free in my patterns vault)
Plaid fabric (about 24″x12″ per hat)
Greens
Pompom
22 gauge wreath wire
2×4 scraps
Stick
1 screw
Driver/Drill
Scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
Wiltproof (evergreen preservative)

These DIY Christmas gnomes are easy to make and will last a long time outdoor. However, if you prefer to have your little friends inside, you can do that as well. Just be sure to choose a cooler location away from a direct heat source.

Spraying your little gnome friends will Wiltproof (and evergreen preservative that goes by several names depending on what store you get it from) will increase their lifespan. Evergreen preservative can generally be found at most garden stores during the cooler months of the year.

You can a few of these DIY Christmas gnomes to put by your door. My brother refers to gnomes as elves’ ugly cousins. πŸ˜‰ So it makes them very fitting to welcome Santa or any other guests over the holiday season who might stop by for a visit.

These little gnomes are so much fun, they all seem to have personality. You almost believe that they’re going to start talking to you.
