DIY Star Trek Vulcan IDIC

This DIY Vulcan IDIC is really easy to make. And since it’s mostly scrap materials, it’s pretty cheap too.

DIY Vulcan IDIC

MATERIALS USED:
Small, scrap pieces of thin cardboard
Gold Metallic paint
Metallic silver paint (Silver Anniversary)
Paint brush
Clear sticky-backed sequin
Hot glue gun
Metal necklace chain
Scissors
Utility knife
Pencil and something round to trace (shampoo bottles are great size for this)

I just used metallic paints for the pieces, but you could also use gold and silver adhesive foil if you want it to look more metallic. The sequin in the center was actually bigger in Star Trek. But I still had some smaller ones left from the Evenstar necklace, so I decided to use one up on this, rather than buying a whole new pack of bigger sequins (waste not). And stick around for the end of the video where my cat, Mr. Spock (yes, my cat’s name is actually Mr. Spock) explains what the IDIC really stand for. And strangely enough, his explanation is different than what I always thought…
