Harry Potter Wand DIY

In this week’s short tutorial, I’ll be showing you how to make a Harry Potter wand DIY style. This one is based on the wands from the earlier movies.

Harry Potter Wand DIY

MATERIALS USED:
Stick
Air dry or oven bake clay
Brown paint
Black paint
Paintbrush

You can use any stick gathered in your local woodlands as a base. Then just get yourself some clay to make the handle.

I used airdry clay for this particular project, but you can also use oven bake clay if you prefer. In either case, just be sure it’s fully dry before you paint it.

The wood grain look on the wand is easily achieved with a little creative painting. Mixing alternating streaks and coats of brown and black while they’re still wet gives it the desired appearance.

So what do you think your patronus would be? I don’t think mine is actually a butterfly, but that was the only creature on my editing software that was about the right color 😉
