Lightsaber Blade Tutorial: How to Make a Simple DIY Lightsaber Blade with a Flashlight
Had a request for a tutorial for how to make a lightsaber with a flashlight.
This lightsaber is not a movie-accurate replica, and it’s definitely not as bright as some of the fancier store-bought lightsabers, but this is a pretty inexpensive way to do a homemade one with a flashlight.
As a general rule, the beam is brighter the shorter the lightsaber blade is. I didn’t do the hilts, this is just for the blade, but the hilts can be finished by hot gluing on some strips of craft foam in the shape of whichever lightsaber you’re creating, and then having the appropriate areas painted silver.
The clear vinyl and shiny foil can be found in JoAnn fabrics. If your JoAnn’s doesn’t carry the foil, it can also be purchased from Amazon here (scroll down to see the different color options). One of these rolls of foil is plenty enough to make multiple lightsabers this way.
