How to Roll Beeswax Candles

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to roll beeswax candles.

How to Roll Beeswax Candles

MATERIALS USED:
Beeswax sheets (you can usually find these honeycombed sheets in most craft stores)
Flat braid wicking
Scissors or utility knife
A hot place / blow dryer / or just a sunny day
Raffia (optional)

Handrolled beeswax candles are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to burn. Beeswax is one of the hardest waxes, so the candles will burn for quite a while. Premade beeswax sheets are the easiest way to make them.

To soften a beeswax sheet, simply heat it up. You can do this with a hair dryer, or even just leaving them in the sun for a few minutes. Just don’t let them get too soft, or you’ll find them difficult to roll. You want them just soft enough to roll without cracking. A good indicator is when the dusty “bloom” has melted off them, then they’re usually soft enough to roll.

One of the most important things to remember when you’re learning how to roll beeswax candles is to ensure that you keep your roll tight. The initial roll around the wick will be the most important. Keep that tight, and the rest of the layers will be easier to keep tight as well.
