Klingon – DIY Klingon Costume

A little craft foam and some fake fur can you get you a cheap and easy DIY klingon costume.

DIY Klingon Costume

MATERIALS USED:
1/2 yard of fake black fur (found at JoAnn Fabrics)
Craft foam 5 sheets
Paper fasteners
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Black vinyl (4 inches wide, and long enough to go around your waist)
4 snaps
4×5 piece of 5mm craft foam
Sewing machine or needle and thread
2 safety pins
Old black shirt
Black pants
Black boots

This is the second part of my DIY klingon costume series. (If you missed the first part, the bat’leth tutorial, check it out here). And in a couple weeks, I’ll show you how I made the head ridges (extreme budget edition 😉 )

If you don’t have craft foam, you can also use cardboard for your DIY klingon costume too. Just make sure it’s flexible cardboard, as it needs to bend around the shoulders. The fake fur I used here originally came from JoAnn’s. It’s the same stuff I used for my faun hooves.

For underneath the armor, I just worn a plain black shirt, black pants, and some black winter boots I had. Conveniently enough, there was also a line of fake fur down the front of the boots, so they lend themselves very nicely as klingon footware.
