Klingons – DIY Klingon Bat’leth

In this tutorial I’ll show how to make a DIY Klingon Bat’leth.

DIY Klingon Bat'leth

MATERIALS USED:
Bat’leth template (can be downloaded free from my patterns vault)
Cardboard
Pencil
Scissor or untility knife
Paper
Hot glue gun
White school glue and Foam brush
Metallic silver paint
Black or brown fabric (I used alova, because it looks like leather)

The bat’leth is a very recognizable traditional Klingon weapon in Star Trek TNG. I made this DIY Klingon bat’leth out of mostly cardboard, so it’s very budget friendly. I also chose to make my bat’leth out of two layers of cardboard for added stability, but it would be more bladelike with only one layer. If you choose to do only one layer, you’ll just have to be a lot more careful with it.

The “leather” wrapping around the handles is really just some polyester alova. It was leftover from my Dothraki Daenerys skirt. And somehow the Dothraki-Klingon combo just seems to make sense a lot of sense πŸ˜‰
