Link Costume Tutorial Part 3 - How to Make Link's Sword Sheath (scabbard), bracers, and gloves - Legend of Zelda

So this is the much over-due third part of the Link costume tutorial from Legend of Zelda; the sword sheath, bracers, and gloves.

MATERIALS USED:
Link sheath and bracer template (available free in my patterns vault)
Black vinyl
Red alova scraps
Brown alova scraps
2mm black craft foam
Power-tac glue
Sewing machine or needle and thread.
3 belts (from 2nd hand shop)
Pellon
Brown distressed fabric
Scissors
4 snaps
White shirt
White pants
Small brown pouch
Small brown knit gloves
Blue fabric (old shirt I cut up)

I did the Dark Link version of the sword sheath here, because it matched the sword my cousin had. But if you’re doing standard Link, just change the colors.

The blue fabric was just an old shirt I cut up. The belts, white shirt, and pants I picked up for a few bucks in a 2nd hand shop, and most of the rest of the fabric was just scraps I had from previous projects. So the fabric would have originally come from JoAnn’s (RIP).

Unfortunately there aren’t many other local places to get costume fabrics in my area, but I am in the process of finding online sources that match what I used to be able to get from JoAnn’s. In the meantime, I’m doing costumes like this Link costume tutorial, which allow me to use up the scraps I do have left from JoAnn’s.

The pouch was something I’d made a few years ago (sorry I don’t have a tutorial for that), but you can use any small brown pouch soft enough to cut slits in for the belt to go through.
