Miraculous Ladybug - How To Make A DIY Miraculous Ladybug Costume - Cheap and Easy

In this week’s tutorial I’ll show you how to make a DIY Miraculous Ladybug costume. It’s easy to put together with some second hand clothes and a few basic craft supplies.

MATERIALS USED:
Mask template (available free in my patterns vault)
Red turtleneck
Red pants
Cardboard tube
Black fabric paint
Red paint
Two matching bottle caps
3 feet of black string
Ankle height shoes
2mm craft foam
Stretchy cord
Black wig
Paintbrush
Utility knife
Scissors
Strong multi-surface glue (Power-tac)

I took a little artistic liberty with this costume, changing up a few parts of it so I could utilize items I already had. I already had a pair of black ankle-high shoes that I wear in real life. So instead of painting them red, I just left them black, since they match the red and black theme of the costume.

I also used a black wig instead of a blue wig, since I already had one on hand. Many times blue hair is just a stylistic version of black in comics and cartoons, so using a black wig when bringing a cartoon costume to life is generally an acceptable substitute.

Since I made the red pants tighter by sewing and cutting off some of the sides, I had some excess scraps of red fabric. I was able to use those for Ladybug’s hair ribbons.

Check back in a couple weeks for the Cat Noir tutorial to accompany the Miraculous Ladybug.
