Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber DIY

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to turn a little cardboard and craft foam into a DIY Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber hilt.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber DIY

MATERIALS USED:
Cardboard tube
Scissors or utility knife
School glue and paintbrush
Glossy Black Paint
Silver adhesive foil or tinfoil
Scraps of 5mm craft foam
3mm craft foam scraps
Glue that will bond metal (Power-tac)
Clear sticky-back sequins
Metallic silver paint
Tiny card board roll/stick/dowel (I used a piece of cornstalk)
Scraps of gold adhesive foil
Bottle cap
Scrap pieces of cardboard
Scrap of paper
Random beads
Metallic silver puffy paint
Metallic copper paint
Gunmetal Gray Metallic paint
Paint brush

This DIY Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber is based on the one Obi-Wan has in the original Star Wars films. It’s very similar to one he has in the prequels, but with some slight differences. Most notably, the one from originals looks “dingy” since it’s supposed to be older.

You could easily alter this DIY Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber to look like the saber he has in the prequels. Mainly by making everything more shiny. This lightsaber is also very similar to the one that Luke has in Return of the Jedi. Which makes sense, since it’s a lightsaber he made himself. Clearly he was paying homage to his mentor.

As such, with a few additional alterations, you could turn this in to Luke’s Return of the Jedi lightsaber as well.
